Drug Abuse Information and Articles

Drugs are substances that are taken to correct, change, or heal something within the human body. Drugs can be made from natural plants and they can also be complex chemical compounds. Drugs are used in the diagnosis, treatment, cure, and prevention for humans and animals.

The word Drug comes from "droog" a German word which means "dry", most drugs were derived from dried plants. When used as prescribed or intended drugs can be extremely beneficial. Most people use drugs daily to cure headaches, colds, infections, control their weight, cholesterol, asthma, and many other conditions and illnesses. Drugs can also be very addictive, some are illegal, and when used improperly can have very negative effects on the user physically and mentally. Drug Abuse is using drugs, even "legal" and "prescription drugs", when you do not really need them for their intended purpose or you take the drugs not as directed.
